Lieutenant General Clark Quinn, Commander of Air Education and Training Command (AETC), anticipates the Boeing T-7A Red Hawk advanced trainer jets will achieve initial operational capability by August 2027. A total of fourteen of these jets are projected to be ready for deployment in that month. The US Air Force intends to establish its first full squadron utilizing the new trainers next summer. This represents a significant step forward in USAF training programs. These aircraft will replace older models currently used for pilot instruction.
