Stratolaunch acquires Boeing 777-200ER to support hypersonic Talon-A flights

Stratolaunch, a US hypersonic flight start-up, has expanded its air-launch fleet to three aircraft with the acquisition of a used Boeing 777-200ER. The airliner, formerly operated by Air New Zealand, will serve as a “carrier” for Stratolaunch’s Talon-A hypersonic test flights. This conversion represents a significant step in bolstering Stratolaunch's operational capabilities and supporting future testing endeavors. The widebody twinjet is expected to ferry the Talon-A vehicle during launch operations. This strategic addition enhances Stratolaunch’s ability to conduct critical flight tests within their established program.
