Spanish air force takes delivery of third ex-Iberia A330 in MRTT guise

The Spanish Air Force has received its third Airbus Defence & Space A330 multi-role tanker transport (MRTT) aircraft, marking the fulfillment of a 2021 deal to convert former Iberia airliners. This latest delivery concludes Madrid’s order for three converted widebody jets. The transfer occurred on October 20th and will see the aircraft integrated into the operational capabilities of the Spanish Air Force's 45th Wing. These ex-Iberia A330 MRTTs are designed to enhance Spain’s strategic airlift capacity. Airbus Defence & Space completed the conversion process following the initial acquisition agreement.
