On August 5th, SpaceX successfully deployed three massive BlueBird satellites into orbit using its Falcon 9 rocket. These satellites were developed by AST SpaceMobile and are designed for direct communication with cellular networks. The launch occurred in a preliminary orbital plane following separation from the Falcon 9’s second stage. Each BlueBird satellite measures approximately 18 feet long and weighs around 660 pounds. This mission marks an important step towards enabling connectivity in areas without traditional cell service infrastructure.
