This marks the airline’s inaugural entry into the international market with this specific operational level. The flights are currently being conducted on Boeing 737 Classics, an aircraft type nearing its end-of-life status within Southwest’s fleet. These older planes represent approximately 42% of Southwest’s total fleet size. Executives stated that the company is actively working to transition to newer models but acknowledged the current limitations imposed by the aging aircraft composition.
