Singapore defers SAF levy for cargo ahead of October rollout

Singapore has decided to postpone the introduction of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) levy specifically applied to cargo flights departing from its city-state. This deferral aligns with the planned implementation of the fee for passenger flights, slated for an October launch. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) made this decision as it prepares for the initial SAF uplift targeted for mid-2027. Currently, the focus remains on finalizing preparations for the passenger flight levy rollout in October. This strategic adjustment allows CAAS time to refine logistical arrangements and ensure a smooth transition for all air operations within Singapore’s airspace.
