Shield AI announces new test flight and production sites for X-Bat jet

Shield AI has unveiled plans to establish two new facilities dedicated to the development, testing, and construction of its X-Bat fighter jet. Production of the AI-piloted drone is projected to commence in 2029, scaling up to full rate production during the early 2030s. The X-Bat design incorporates vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, utilizing a tailless configuration. These test flights will be conducted from a mobile rail system for launch and recovery operations. Shield AI’s strategy focuses on establishing robust infrastructure for this innovative combat drone.
