Russian Il-20 suspected of flying nearly 9 km into Finnish airspace

Finland's Ministry of Defence reported that a Russian Il-20 aircraft was suspected of entering Finnish airspace near the western Gulf region. According to officials, the incident occurred over an area approximately nine kilometers deep within Finland’s territory. The ministry stated they detected the potential intrusion and immediately initiated standard operating procedures for such events. Radar data indicated the aircraft remained in the zone for a brief period before returning to Russia. This event is currently under investigation by Finnish authorities as part of ongoing monitoring activities.
