Rolls-Royce to lead EU hybrid-electric aircraft project

Rolls-Royce has been chosen by the European Union’s Clean Aviation program to spearhead a project focused on demonstrating hybrid-electric propulsion systems for short and medium-range aircraft. This initiative, titled ELEVATED, is part of a larger effort within the Clean Aviation funding call, selecting one of nineteen projects overall. The goal is to reduce aviation emissions while simultaneously enhancing fuel efficiency across future aircraft designs. Specifically, the project will concentrate on proving the viability of this technology in operational settings.
