Rocket Lab unveils containerized launch system for deployable spaceports

Rocket Lab announced the development of a novel, containerized launch system intended for deployment at various locations worldwide. This innovative approach will facilitate the operation of both Electron and HASTE rockets from new sites, significantly expanding access to space. The system’s modular design allows for rapid assembly and disassembly within standard shipping containers, streamlining operations considerably. Initial plans focus on utilizing the system in Alaska, establishing what Rocket Lab is calling a ‘Ghost’ deployable spaceport. This strategic move aims to reduce reliance on traditional launch facilities and offer greater flexibility for satellite deployments across diverse geographic regions.
