Qantas to retire A380 fleet earlier than expected, eyes replacements

Qantas has accelerated its plans to decommission its Airbus A380 aircraft, announcing a retirement date of August 26, 2026. This decision was confirmed by the airline and represents an earlier timeline than initially projected. The move follows a strategic review of Qantas’s long-haul network and future fleet requirements. Currently, the airline operates a fleet of approximately 41 A380 aircraft. Qantas intends to replace these aircraft with newer generation models as part of this transition.
