Ouch: Lufthansa Becomes 2nd Airline To Reject Boeing’s Oldest 777-9s

German airline Lufthansa has become the second carrier to decline delivery of Boeing's newest 777-9 aircraft. This decision follows a similar move by Emirates earlier this month regarding their own older models of the 777-9. The rejection centers around concerns about potential issues with the plane’s systems, particularly those related to ice protection and cabin air pressure. These problems have been dubbed the “Terrible Teens” referring to early production challenges experienced with the 777-9. Consequently, Lufthansa is now evaluating alternative options for its fleet expansion plans.
