Northrop Grumman unveils new engineering site for sixth-generation aircraft

Northrop Grumman has established a new engineering facility in Florida to bolster efforts related to the development of the US Navy’s F/A-XX sixth-generation fighter jet. The 27,870 square meter (300,000 sq ft) factory is located within Northrop Grumman's existing Melbourne, Florida hub. This expansion directly supports the design and production activities associated with this critical next-generation aircraft program. The site will house key elements of the project’s engineering processes. Northrop Grumman remains competitive as it pursues the contract for the Navy’s future carrier-based fighter.
