NASA’s ESCAPADE Snaps Family Portrait of Earth, Moon

NASA's ESCAPADE mission successfully obtained a unique family portrait featuring Earth and the Moon on July 3rd. The two spacecraft, part of the ESCAPADE program, utilized both visible and thermal infrared light to capture these images. During the observation, one spacecraft maintained a distance of 363,250 miles (584,600 kilometers) from Earth. Simultaneously, it was situated 115,600 miles (186,100 kilometers) away from the Moon. This data acquisition represents an important step in understanding the dynamics of the space environment.
