NASA Completes Astronaut-Deployed Science Instrument for Lunar Surface

NASA officially announced the completion of the science instrument payload intended for deployment by Artemis astronauts on the Moon's surface today. The project focused on developing and rigorously testing the hardware for NASA’s Lunar Environment Monitoring Station, or LEMS. This station will be permanently located in the vicinity of the lunar South Pole. The successful culmination of this effort marks a significant step forward in preparing for future scientific exploration. Data collected from LEMS will contribute to understanding the unique environmental conditions at the moon’s south pole.
