Judge Rejects Russia’s Bid To Reclaim Seized Antonov An-124 In Toronto

A Canadian judge has definitively rejected Russia's latest attempt to regain possession of the Antonov An-124 aircraft currently held in Toronto, marking nearly four and a half years since its arrival in Canada. The massive cargo plane remains stranded within the country following its forced landing due to technical difficulties over rural Alberta in December 2018. Legal proceedings have repeatedly stalled, with various Russian entities attempting to assert ownership rights throughout this protracted legal battle. Despite numerous court hearings and appeals, no resolution has emerged regarding the fate of the aircraft. Currently, the An-124 is subject to an order preventing its departure from Canada.
