IndiGo sinks to quarterly loss, removes nine aircraft from fleet

IndiGo reported a quarterly loss for the period ending June 30th, citing lower demand and operational uncertainty. The Indian low-cost carrier anticipates its capacity will remain broadly flat in fiscal year 2027’s second quarter. As of the reporting date, IndiGo operated a fleet of 432 aircraft. To mitigate financial pressures, the airline removed nine older, damp-leased aircraft from its fleet during April to June. This strategic move reflects adjustments made due to challenging market conditions and anticipated reduced passenger numbers.
