Horizon starts testing anti-icing technologies for Cavorite X7

Horizon Aircraft, in collaboration with Cert Center Canada and the University of Toronto, has commenced initial windtunnel tests evaluating new ice-phobic coatings designed for application to their Cavorite X7 aircraft. These coatings were developed by researchers at the University of Toronto as part of a Canadian government-backed program. The testing is taking place within a windtunnel environment. The goal of this research is to potentially apply these coatings to the Cavorite X7 to provide anti-icing technology. This represents an early stage in assessing the viability of these innovative solutions for enhancing aircraft safety and performance.
