High-altitude variant of Comac C919 completes maiden sortie

Xizang Airlines will be the launch customer for the high-altitude version of the Comac C919, with a planned order of forty aircraft. The initial test flight of the C919’s high-altitude variant was conducted from Shanghai's Pudong international airport. During this inaugural flight, which lasted one hour and fifty-nine minutes, the test aircraft – designated B-002U – successfully completed all pre-determined test items. Comac confirmed the successful completion of these scheduled tests following the sortie. This marks an important step in the development and certification process for the specialized C919 model designed to operate at higher altitudes.
