Greek air force F-4 Phantom crew killed in air show crash

A fatal accident occurred during Athens Flying Week on September 5th, resulting in the loss of both members of a Greek Air Force McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom flight crew. The incident took place near the nation’s capital while the aircraft was performing an air show display. This aged fighter jet crashed during the event on September 5th. It is noted that this represents one of a limited number of operational F-4E Phantoms still assigned to the Hellenic Armed Forces.
