Great Britten: airframer completes first flight of UK-built Islander

Britten-Norman has achieved a significant milestone by completing the inaugural flight of the BN-2 Islander, assembled entirely in the United Kingdom. This piston-twin aircraft (MSN2317) took to the skies for its maiden sortie on September 3rd at Britten-Norman’s facility. The key achievement represents a crucial step in the company's production-reshoring initiative. Following successful testing, the Islander is now scheduled for delivery within the coming weeks. The Falkland Islands Government Air Service (FIGAS) will receive this historic aircraft marking a return to UK manufacturing.
