GE Aerospace flies high-altitude, high-voltage flight with hybrid-electric Saab 340

GE Aerospace recently completed a groundbreaking transatlantic flight utilizing a modified CT7 powerplant in a Saab 340 testbed aircraft. The experimental flight achieved high-altitude and high-voltage hybrid-electric operation, marking the initial demonstration of this technology. Specifically, the aircraft traversed from New York to Goose via oceanic routes, leveraging the megawatt-class engine’s capabilities.
