France receives first special forces NH90 to replace Caracal and Cougar

Airbus Helicopters officially delivered the initial NH90 Standard 2 helicopter to the French Armament General Directorate (DGA) during a ceremony held at Marignane on July. This particular NH90 variant is specifically designated for equipping France’s special forces units, marking a significant step in replacing older fleet assets like the Caracal and Cougar helicopters. The handover represents a key element of France's ongoing efforts to modernize its military aviation capabilities within the aerospace sector. DGA representatives were present at the event to oversee the acceptance of this first operational unit. Airbus Helicopters continues to work closely with the DGA to ensure seamless integration and training for the new NH90 fleet.
