Flydubai steps up to dedicated freighters with initial fleet of wet-leased 737-800s

Flydubai will initiate its cargo operations commencing in October, utilizing a fleet of three Boeing 737-800 aircraft procured through a wet-lease agreement. These freighter planes will operate from Dubai World Central airport, marking the airline’s entry into dedicated freight services. Hamad Obaidalla, Flydubai's chief commercial officer, stated that this move is intended to support trade activities. The initial deployment involves leasing these converted passenger jets specifically for cargo transport purposes. This strategic expansion reflects Flydubai’s commitment to broadening its operational capabilities and meeting evolving market demands within the aviation sector.
