Embraer works to understand GPS ‘instability’ issue with E2-family jets

Embraer is collaborating with Honeywell to investigate a GPS navigation system instability affecting its E2 family of regional jets. The airframer reports receiving reports concerning the problem, but maintains that it does not compromise operational safety. Currently, the precise cause of this GPS instability remains undetermined by Embraer engineers. This investigation focuses specifically on the avionics systems within the E2 aircraft models. Embraer’s priority is understanding and resolving this issue through joint efforts with Honeywell.
