Embraer working with undisclosed Super Tucano operator to add counter-UAS capability

Embraer is developing a counter-Unmanned Aerial System (CUS) capability for its A-29 Super Tucano light attack turboprop aircraft, positioning it as a cost-effective defense solution. Frederico Lemos, Embraer’s chief commercial officer for the defence unit, confirmed that the airframer is collaborating with an existing customer to certify this new functionality. The project aims to integrate CUS capabilities into the Super Tucano platform. This development builds upon Embraer's current marketing of the A-29 specifically for air-to-air counter-drone defense. The certification process is underway, focusing on enhancing the Super Tucano’s operational versatility.
