Embraer renews push for US Air Force KC-390 order with ‘Multi-Mission Airlift and Tanker’ pitch

Embraer is actively pursuing a contract to supply the KC-390 aircraft to the United States Air Force, framing it as a complementary addition to the Boeing KC-46 tanker. The Brazilian airframer has introduced a new concept dubbed “Multi-Mission Airlift and Tanker” (MMAT), centered around the existing KC-390 multirole twinjet design. Embraer intends for this MMAT offering to prioritize operational flexibility within the USAF’s requirements. This renewed push follows previous attempts to secure an order for the versatile aircraft. The company aims to leverage the growing popularity of the KC-390 platform in its bid.
