Electric VTOL Aircraft Answer Real 911 Calls in North Carolina

Hyde County, North Carolina is utilizing ultralight, electric aircraft to respond to genuine 911 calls. The innovative program employs six of these aircraft, each capable of carrying a first responder. These vehicles have successfully completed over 60 missions since their deployment on November 3rd, 2023. The aircraft are equipped with communication systems and can reach remote areas quickly, bypassing ground traffic congestion. Hyde County officials believe this strategy significantly reduces response times for critical situations within the county.
