EASA releases annual aviation safety figures: 116 deaths in 2025

A total of 116 fatalities occurred during scheduled flights within the European Union and EASA’s jurisdiction throughout the year. Commercial air transport accounted for 98 of these incidents, while general aviation recorded eight deaths. Military operations resulted in ten fatalities, highlighting a significant portion of aviation-related casualties. The data underscores ongoing efforts to improve aviation safety standards and reduce risks associated with flight operations.
