Domestic ice-detection system approved for Russia’s Il-114-300

Rosaviatsia, the Russian federal air transport regulator, has certified a domestically developed ice detection system, the SO-114, specifically designed for use with the Ilyushin Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft. The certification followed a year of testing conducted by Aerokosmicheskiye Systemy, a company located in Dubna, north of Moscow. This new system is intended to operate effectively in regions characterized by harsh weather conditions. Rosaviatsia’s approval signifies that the SO-114 meets all necessary safety standards for detecting ice buildup on the aircraft. The equipment will be crucial for ensuring safe operations of the Il-114-300 within challenging climates.
