Czech regulator provisionally clears Pegasus Airlines’ acquisition of Smartwings

Czech regulators have conditionally approved Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines' acquisition of Czech carrier Smartwings. This approval was secured following commitments from Pegasus to address concerns related primarily to the Prague-Antalya route. Specifically, Pegasus has agreed to transfer a number of summer slots on this route to another carrier as part of the agreement. The decision reflects an effort by Pegasus to alleviate competition worries within the Central European aviation market. Following regulatory review, the transaction is now provisionally cleared for completion, subject to ongoing monitoring and adherence to the stipulated conditions.
