During Sols 5029 through 5035, NASA’s Curiosity rover continued its investigation of Gale Crater on Mars with a focus on detailed data collection. The mission primarily involved creating mosaics using Mastcam imagery alongside chemical analysis performed by the ChemCam instrument and its associated Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS). Furthermore, the rover utilized its Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) and Mars Descent Imager (MARDI) for close-up visual observations. Systematic measurements were also taken via REMS, RAD, and DAN instruments throughout these sols. Scientists are analyzing this extensive dataset to further understand Martian geology and chemistry.
