Coulson picks up 10 ex-Canadian air force C-130s to expand firefighting fleet

Coulson Aviation has finalized the acquisition of ten Lockheed Martin C-130H aircraft, formerly operated by the Canadian Air Force, to bolster its firefighting capabilities. These transport planes, known as CC-130Hs in Canada, have a history of tactical airlift, search and rescue operations, and other critical missions. This expansion is directly responding to the severe wildfire conditions currently impacting British Columbia. Coulson’s strategy involves repurposing these existing military assets for aerial firefighting duties. The move represents a significant increase in airtanker capacity designed to support emergency response efforts within the region.
