During a virtual event at Tyndall Air Force Base’s Silver Flag training site, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Gregory Mayfield announced a new distinctive beret for Airmen in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) career field. The announcement coincided with the graduation of the first Project MAMBA course, marking a significant milestone for EOD personnel. This unique beret will serve as a visual identifier for EOD Airmen across all locations within the United States Air Force. Senior Airman Brian Baker, representing the 60th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal operations team, demonstrated techniques during exercise Sourdough in San Francisco, California on December 10, 2025.
