Bell awarded contract for SPINE upgrades to H-1 fleet

Bell Textron secured a $300 million contract from the US Department of the Navy for structural and power improvements across the Marine Corps’ H-1 fleet. This award encompasses Phase 3.0 of the Structural and Power Improvements for NextGen Effects (SPINE) program, impacting up to 49 AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom helicopters. The deal utilizes a firm-fixed-price contract structure with incentives designed to manage costs effectively. Bell will implement upgrades focused on enhancing the resilience of these vital aircraft against emerging threats. Completion of this project is anticipated under the established fixed-price incentive and cost-plus-fixed-fee terms.
