The French investigation into the November 26, 2023 incident at Nice Airport involved recreating a nighttime flight to analyze the effect of runway lighting. BEA investigators meticulously replicated EasyJet Flight EZY845’s approach and subsequent near miss with NouvelAir Flight NV167. The goal was to determine whether inadequate or improperly positioned runway lights contributed to the close encounter. This reenactment utilized identical aircraft types and simulated weather conditions mirroring those present during the actual event.
