Archer and Anduril unveil jointly-developed autonomous hybrid dual-use VTOL

Archer aviation and defense technology company Anduril have announced the development of a novel, autonomously operated vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. This joint venture has produced a hybrid-electric platform designed for both commercial air mobility applications and military use. The vehicle is described as fully autonomous, indicating it will operate without direct human control during flight operations. Initial testing of the system is scheduled to commence in Texas later this year, with specific locations yet to be disclosed. Both Archer and Anduril anticipate that this dual-use VTOL could represent a significant advancement in future transportation technologies.
