An-2 modernisation plans include range extension and higher passenger accommodation

Rosaviatsia is collaborating with modification specialists regarding upgrades for the Antonov An-2 aircraft, aiming to bolster its operational capabilities. Russian developers are proposing modifications that will extend the plane’s range significantly while simultaneously increasing passenger capacity. The Siberian aviation research institute SibNIA has been tasked with supporting the existing An-2 fleet through these planned changes. Discussions between SibNIA and Rosaviatsia focused on providing support for the current An-2 fleet. These modernization efforts represent a key initiative to maintain and enhance this historic aircraft's utility within Russia.
