Airside at SEA? Yes, please!

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) hosted its annual "SEA Airport AV Geeks Airfield Day" in late summer, welcoming a group of local aviation enthusiasts. Approximately twelve AvGeeks participated after receiving a safety briefing and were transported via vans to an access road adjacent to active runways. The event began under overcast conditions but transitioned to clear skies by early afternoon, revealing Mount Rainier’s presence to the southeast. Attendees spent several hours observing operations from the designated area, appreciating the visibility of all three runways and the surrounding mountain views. Participants utilized hearing protection and noted the distinctive scent of jet fuel during the experience.
