Aero, Thales expand L-39 Skyfox counter-drone role with guided rockets

Aero Vodochody and Thales Belgium formalized their collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on enhancing the L-39 SkyFox’s capabilities as a counter-drone system. The primary objective of this expansion is to integrate guided rocket technology into the aircraft's operational profile. This development aims to bolster the SkyFox’s effectiveness against unmanned aerial systems, providing enhanced protection for critical infrastructure. Aero and Thales are jointly undertaking research and development activities related to this integration process. Initial tests will be conducted in Belgium, leveraging Thales’ expertise in guidance systems and weapon technologies.
