Australian company Advanced Navigation is showcasing its compact inertial navigation systems (INSs) at the Farnborough air show. These INSs utilize fibre optic gyros and are designed specifically to mitigate the growing threat of GPS jamming and spoofing. The small form factor enables operations for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly in environments characterized by heavy electronic warfare. Military aircraft and UAV manufacturers are seeking solutions to this persistent problem.
