Airhart Aeronautics unveiled its new avionics platform, dubbed “Context,” during their first public demonstration at Sun n' Fun in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on March 29th, 2024. The system is designed to be context-aware, utilizing a combination of GPS and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data to provide pilots with enhanced situational awareness. This innovative approach aims to reduce pilot workload by automatically adjusting displayed information based on the aircraft’s flight phase and surrounding environment. Airhart demonstrated the platform’s capabilities within a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, showcasing features like automated terrain avoidance and intelligent alerts. The company anticipates certification through the FAA process over the next several years.
