5 Air Force Bases Spending Hundreds Of Millions To Rebuild Cold War-Era Runways

The Air Force is investing heavily in rebuilding and upgrading several key military airfields across the United States, representing an expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars. Specifically, Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada has allocated $276 million to modernize its runways, while Edwards Air Force Base in California is receiving $189 million for similar upgrades. Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado Springs will receive $350 million to rebuild its runway infrastructure. Hill Air Force Base in Utah is slated to spend $246 million on runway reconstruction projects.
