2 spacecraft will soon reach Mercury after 8 years in space. Here's what BepiColombo can do

Following an eight-year journey through our solar system, the BepiColombo mission is poised for a significant milestone as its two spacecraft prepare to enter orbit around Mercury. The European Space Agency’s (ESA) BepiColombo probe will now embark on a detailed investigation of this innermost planet, focusing on uncovering its mysteries. Initially launched in October 2018 from Kourou, French Guiana, the mission has successfully navigated complex gravitational pathways surrounding Earth and Venus. Once in orbit, the spacecraft will conduct extensive observations, collecting data about Mercury's surface composition, magnetic field, and environment.
