150 Minutes To Nowhere: US Air Force Scraps C-17 Globemaster Flight Over Russian Missile Alert

A United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft experienced an unexpected and abrupt termination of its mission on December 8, 2023. The flight occurred during the annual Winter Fly-in (WINFLY) event which takes place annually. Specifically, the flight was intended to travel for approximately 150 minutes; however, it ultimately achieved no distance from its origin point. This decision was made due to a heightened alert regarding Russian missile activity in the region. Military officials confirmed that the C-17’s flight was immediately halted as a precautionary measure.
